Suddenly, "a tremendous blueish-white flash came through the classroom," and the intense fire and heat that followed was unbearable, he recalled.

Let's face it - living in America really sucks these days. It doesn't really matter what side of the aisle you plant your flag on. Odds are, you're unhappy. If you're a liberal, you're steamed at the inability of your own party to get the job done. If you're a conservative, well, when are you ever happy?

On all fronts, the nation is mired in gridlock, and annoyance has long since morphed into apoplectic rage.

At 21 years old, you can walk into any corner gas station or Dirt Cheap store and buy all the liquor you can afford. You can get into strip clubs with no problem. And you now have the privilege to get wasted at any bar you choose. You're entering the good life, and it needs to be celebrated in a major way.

If I said the name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, would you break out in excitement? Oh, maybe you know her better as Lady Gaga.

How about Kesha Rose Sebert, a.k.a. Ke$ha? Not so much?

Since the rise of Lady Gaga, it seems the next big thing in pop music is around the corner.

Being a college athlete takes a lot of time and hard work - let alone playing two college sports.

But junior Robby Meeh wouldn't have it any other way. With the basketball season ending last week, Meeh's teammates have begun their offseason. But there will be no time off for Meeh, whose golf season is now underway.

Webster University's men's and women's basketball teams' met the same fate last week, each losing in the first round of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Though disappointing for each, it was remarkable that each team even found themselves playing beyond the final game of their schedule.
