Board member Breckenridge dies at 73
Supported development of Old Post Office

Donald E. Breckenridge, a former Webster University board of trustees member and long-time St. Louis developer, died Nov. 30 of lung cancer. He was 73.
Mr. Breckenridge was the president and CEO of Breckenridge Companies, and was working on the redevelopment of the Kiel Opera House in downtown St. Louis. Previously he helped with the development of the Sheraton St. Louis hotel and several other hotels and condominiums throughout the city and state.
Mr. Breckenridge grew up in Webster Groves and graduated from the University of Arizona.
At a press conference Dec. 1, Webster President Richard Meyers said Breckenridge had been a major supporter in the university's efforts to move into the Old Post Office building
downtown.
Mr. Breckenridge is survived by his wife, Diane, four children, two stepchildren and 13 grandchildren. His funeral was held Dec. 5.
