The pair are now incorporating this sports talk proclivity by doing the play-by-play commentary at recent Webster men's and women's basketball home games for GTV.
"It's something I've been trying to get going since I got here," Hearn said.
It was a process that, though long overdue at this school, was not easy. Hearn had expressed an interest in starting a play-by-play set-up to GTV's Ben Kingsley and the two began what Hearn described as a "Phone/ email tag thing."
"I just kept on him about it," Hearn said.
Eventually Kingsley agreed, although he wanted to see what Hearn could do first. "I made a tape of me (calling) a womens volleyball game and he seemed impressed,"Hearn said.
As far as these most recent broadcasts, Hearn said overall he was pleased, but there were a couple of kinks still to be worked out.
"We didn't have any headphones and I think we were talking over each other there for a while but we're getting better," Hearn said.
The basketball season is coming to an end but the duo will be calling Gorlok baseball later this spring.
