Los Amancay plays Argentine folk music Sept. 29 in the UC Sunnen Lounge. Los Amancay, whose name means 'love' in their particular Spanish dialect, also performed in a traditional way, punctuating fast, stomping songs and slow, melodic ballads with jokes. Graciela Corvalán, chairwoman of the international languages and cultures department, translated for those in the audience who did not speak Spanish. Corvalán, who is from Argentina, could be seen singing along to certain songs, including a ballad to the west Argentine city of Mendoza. Approximately 20 people attended the event.
