Cherkasky, president and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Co., will lecture on "Succeeding in a Risky Business" from 4 to 5 p.m. in the University Center Sunnen Lounge as part of the 2007 Success to Significance Speaker Series. - The Webster University Film Series presents Paulo Thiago's "This Is Bossa Nova: The Histories & Stories," or "Coisa Mais Linda: Histórias e Casos da Bossa Nova," at 7 p.m. in the Winifred Moore Auditorium. The film will be in Portuguese with English subtitles.
- Assistant professor of Religious Studies Jason Slone will lead a discussion of "In the Shadow the Ark" by Anne Provoost at noon in the Emerson Library Conference Room. Admission is free. Feel free to bring lunch. For more information, call ext. 8673.

- The Webster University Film Series presents Paulo Thiago's "This Is Bossa Nova: The Histories & Stories," or "Coisa Mais Linda: Histórias e Casos da Bossa Nova," at 7 p.m. in the Winifred Moore Auditorium. The film will be in Portuguese with English subtitles.
- The Jazz St. Louis Gala: "Jam-a-Lot" will begin with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., dinner and live auction at 7:30 p.m. and the Neville Brothers will perform at 9 p.m. in the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, located at One South Broadway. All proceeds benefit the Jazz St. Louis' education and outreach programs. For more information or ticket pricing, call 289-4030.
- The St. Louis Office for Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Resources sponsors the Seventh Annual Disabilities Awareness Art Show from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Portfolio Art Gallery and Educational Center, located at 3514 Delmar Blvd. There will be an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 421-0090.
