My first visit to the May Gallery at the Sverdrup Building was accomplished this past weekend easily and comfortably by taking Metro. Yes, Metro goes to Webster: MetroLink to Sunnen Station and then a short bus ride to Lockwood. I live in the Central West End and look forward to more trips to WU for theater, opera, recitals and exhibits.

Two articles in the March 22 Journal highlight the need for more information and support for public transit - "From All Walks ... " and "Drivers Brace for Delays ... " No one needs to be stranded at the airport if arrival is before midnight.

Metro's online TripFinder, http://www.metrostlouis.org, has many good suggestions for transit routes, but you may discover other routes especially if you are willing to walk or ride your bike. Yes, Metro takes your bike - on bus or train. The difficulty lies in connecting with buses, which generally run every half-hour (trains run more frequently).

I use Metro every day. It is inexpensive, pleasant, pretty much on time and of course environmentally less damaging than automobiles.

I know of no 15-minute shuttle from Shrewsbury Station unless WU is planning to create one, which would be very helpful.
