Publications board meeting
A publications board meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. April 5 in room 120 of the Sverdrup building. The meeting will address grievances regarding the article "Faculty squelch Webbies film" (March 29). The meeting is open to anyone.
Date auction
The Residential Housing Association is hosting a date auction 9:30 p.m. April 10 in the University Center Sunnen Lounge. Eligible bachelors and bachelorettes will be auctioned off for a date. All dates come with a prize package from companies such as Weber's Front Row Grill, the City Museum and the Moolah Theater among others. All proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.
18th Annual Webbies Award Ceremony
The School of Communications will host the Webbies Award Ceremony at 7 p.m. April 9 in the Loretto-Hilton Center. Vince Morris, a comedian who has appeared on Comedy Central, will host the event. An "Old Hollywood" afterparty will be held in the Loretto-Hilton lobby. Cocktail attire is encouraged for the afterparty. Drinks and refreshments will be available.
SGA application deadline approaching
Applications are being accepted for the follwing SGA positions: president, vice president, comptroller, secretary, sergeant-at-arms, two senators from each school and two graduate senators. Online applications as well as job descriptions are available at http://www.webster.edu/sga/app_for_candidacy.html. Applications must be submitted to John Ginsburg in the University Center or e-mailed to ginsbujo@webster.edu by 5 p.m. April 6.
South African ambassador
Barbara J. Masekela, the South African Ambassador to the United States, will attend a reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 5 in the UC Sunnen Lounge. The reception is open to all Webster faculty, staff and family. Masekela also will attend a social hour and town hall meeting from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6 at the Loretto-Hilton Center. The social hour and town hall meeting are both open to the public. Reservations are encouraged. Call ext. 7149 for more information.
