Heavy machinery destroys the Music Annex, located on the Music Quad between the Loretto-Hilton Center on Garden Avenue and the Thompson Music Building on Big Bend Boulevard, Aug. 25. The demolition began at 10 a.m. On the construction mesh surrounding the site are slips of paper notifying students of the location of the "New Music Annex" within the new Community Music Building on Garden Avenue. The Historic Presesrvation Commission of St. Louis, an organization that tries to preserve landmarks of historical significance, held a public hearing Aug. 22 about the demolition.
