Karla Armbruster, co-chair of the ESC, said that Corrigan was an easy choice for the Brown Bag Lecture series, which allows attendees to bring their own lunch.
"There were a lot of people who were interested in the book and a lot of the students who showed up know Don," she said. "It also doesn't hurt that it's early in the semester and there's not much going on just yet."
Armbruster said there was another Brown Bag Special planned for spring, but a speaker has yet to be scheduled.
Lilo Whitener, an undergraduate admissions counselor, said she came to the event because she has already visited many of the places mentioned in the book.
"I also came here because I'm interested in seeing the other sites mentioned in the book," she said.
Whitener said she was impressed by the detail and beauty of the illustrations.
"They offer a unique view of the natural beauty of the sites," she said.
Corrigan has several other appearances scheduled, the next of which lasts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the Sunset Hills City Hall.
"Doing these things is a lot of fun. I love signing the books," Corrigan said.

I think the reporter was matched perfectly with the subject for this story. You can tell when a reporter is really in sync with the subject. I got chills. (Continued…)
