Fossett Missing
Steve Fossett, millionaire adventurer and husband of Webster alum and Board of Trustees member Peggy Fossett, went missing Sept. 3. Fossett, 63, was flying a single-engine plane in western Nevada when he disappeared. He is known for his risky feats, including being the first person to fly solo around the world in a hot air balloon without stopping. He also flew an experimental plane for 76 hours, the longest nonstop flight in aviation history.
President's Convocation Sept. 12
Webster University's President Richard Meyers will hold a convocation honoring the 40 year anniversary of Webster College leaving the Roman Catholic Church. During the event, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Music School's concert hall, President Meyers will honor former Webster President Jacqueline Grennan Wexler.
